Jane Hart라는 소셜 러닝 컨설턴트(social learning consultant)가 2009년을 빛낸 학습관련 도구들을 100개로 정리한 후 발표했나 봅니다.
학습관련 도구를 총 27개의 카테고리로 분류한 후 그 아래에 도구의 순위를 매겼습니다. 가장 공헌이 큰 도구들로는 아래와 같은 것이 있습니다(출처 : 여기).

목록을 모두 보셨나요? 이 중에서 우리나라 이러닝에서 활용할 만한 것들은 어떤 것이 있을까요? 아니 이 중에서 경험해 보신 것들이 몇 개가 되시나요?
목록을 보면 우리가 생각하고, 상상하는 이러닝과는 상당히 다른 관점을 엿볼 수 있습니다.
특히 웹브라우저를 학습을 위한 도구라고 분류한 것은 신선합니다. 이러닝은 기본적으로 웹을 근간으로 하기 때문에 웹브라우저가 없이는 학습 자체를 할 수 없습니다. 그런데 우리는 웹브라우저를 학습도구라고 인식하지 못하고 있었스니다. 저도차도 웹브라우저는 '웹이라는 플랫폼을 탐색하는 데 활용되는 창' 정도로만 여기고 있었는데 이러닝에서 가장 중요한 학습도구였던 겁니다.
블로깅툴, RSS리더, 마이크로블로깅, 검색 등도 학습을 위한 도구로 사고를 확장합니다. 게다가 프레젠테이션 도구의 1등은 슬라이드쉐어입니다. 파워포인트가 아니고요.
처음듣는 저작도구들도 많이 언급되어 있습니다. Articulate, Lectora, Udutu 등을 가지고 이러닝 콘텐츠를 만드는 데 활용하고 있나봅니다. 특히 Udutu는 웹기반 저작도구입니다. 만드는데는 무료이고 이것을 서비스하기 위한 호스팅에만 비용을 받는 방식으로 서비스를 합니다. 기존 이러닝은 콘텐츠 자체를 학습자에게 판매하여 수익을 내 왔는데, 이 서비스는 또 다른 접근을 하고 있습니다.
여기에 언급된 학습도구들의 면면을 살펴보다 보면 이러닝을 어떻게 접근해야할 것인지에 대한 중요한 단서가 나올 겁니다. 시간 되시는 분들은 100가지 도구를 꼼꼼하게 살펴보시면 도움이 많이 될 것 같습니다.
리스트 중에 워들(Wordle)이라는 웹앱은 단어를 가지고 태그클라우드와 같은 모양을 만들어 줍니다. 100개의 학습관련 도구를 설명한 텍스트를 가지고 클라우드를 만들어 봤습니다.

재미있는 글입니다 ^^ 저희 내부에도 공유를 했습니다. 예전에 ASTD 다녀와서부터 계속 느낀 것이지만 이러닝이라는 의미가 우리나라와 다른 나라의 차이가 상당히 있다는 것입니다. 저는 위와 같은 것들이 정말 이러닝이 아닐까 라는...구글과 아이팟,웹브라우저 등 우리 주변에 항상 사용하고 있는 것들 자체가 학습 도구로써의 의미가 있다는 것...보편적 진리를 저희는 맨날 교수설계에 준한...무슨 이론,,,등등...ㅡㅡ; 플래쉬로 떡칠하고...고용보험...휴휴... 참 책 드려야 하는데...^^
